August Jean Landry (Pawpaw)

August Jean Landry (Paw Paw), 82, of Lake Charles, passed away peacefully on Wednesday March 22, 2023 at his home with his family at his side.

August was a native and life-long resident of Lake Charles and spent his working years as a technician in the offshore oil fields. He was a very outgoing person who loved being around others and never met a stranger. He was always someone who could and would help others and had a very wide range of talents from art to fixing cars. He spent many hours hunting and fishing with friends and teaching others how to become an outdoorsman (but never as good as he was!). He was also known to enjoy traveling enjoying a good shrimp dinner.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Crawford (Sr.) and Ella Dugs Landry; brothers, Crawford Landry, Jr. and Floyd “Booger” Landry and a sister, Lenda Landry Faye.

He leaves to cherish his memory his Grandson, Josh Moreau and great granddaughter, Kristy Moreau and Great Grandson, John Moreau; a sister, Margie Landry Tarver and husband Rick, of Westlake as well an numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family of the heart.

As to Paw Paw’s wishes, cremation was entrusted to Simple Traditions by Johnson Funeral Home and no Formal services will be observed.
