Brenda Louise Fontenot

Brenda Louise Fontenot born August 26, 1945, in Lake Charles, LA. She was the eldest of six children. She was born to Earl and Mary Louise Reed.

She enjoyed the simplicity of the country living in Iota and graduated from Iota High School.

Shortly after High School she married Davis Robert Fontenot and they welcomed one son, Darren Fontenot. While he worked to support the family, she held the role of diligent and loving wife and mother. Following Davis passing, she met and built a life with James Cole. Together they welcomed two daughters, Paula and Krystle.

She enjoyed spending time in her garden, tending to her flowers, and making memories with her grandchildren. She never turned down an opportunity to get her family together to enjoy a crawfish boil.

Brenda will best be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her spunky spirit, sass, and fun-loving nature will be missed by all who loved her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Davis Fontenot, life partner of twenty years, James Cole; parents; and one sister, Carolyn Andrepont, and two brothers, Mike Henson and Keith Henson.

Those left to cherish her memory; three children, Darren Fontenot and partner, Vicky James of Lake Charles, Paula All of Kinder, and Krystle Richard and husband Nick of Lake Charles; seven grandchildren, Christopher, Dallas, Laken, Austin, Riley, Lorin, and Lennox; one great grandchild, Grant; two brothers, Greg Henson, Gary Henson, and Connie Allen.

Family to welcome friends Thursday, May 2, 2024, beginning 1:45pm till time of service. Funeral services, led by Eric Foshee, will begin at 3:30pm. Cremation has been entrusted to Simple Traditions following services.
