Jimmie Paul Mallett

October 15, 1935 — July 12, 2023

Jimmie Paul Mallett, Sr. was the eldest of three children born to Louis Paul and Isabelle Mallett. He was born October 15, 1935 in Lake Arthur, LA.

No one had to tell him he would love hunting and fishing, it ran deep in his southern born DNA. Every chance he had, he could be found in the sticks, marsh, or on the water, only occasionally was he forced into hiding during his adventures. His children share many fond memories with their father; doing as he said, not as he did!

He and his wife “Bunnie” met by chance at a local dance hall, and exchanged vows April 1, 1955. He was a man of character, quick wit, and antics, but through it all Bunnie kept his grounded. Often he would enjoy visits and fellowship in their kitchen as she witnessed to others.

He worked for many years as a welder, traveling to provide for his family, working in the plants or at local welding shops. His southern roots called him back to the water, he began working as a commercial fisherman, trolling for shrimp, or checking the crab traps in Hackberry and lower Cameron Parish.

In his down time, he enjoyed many nights with his family, spoiling his grandchildren, and always winning when they played canasta.

He was welcomed into Heaven, Wednesday, July 12, 2023 by his wife fifty-eight years; a son, Jimmie Paul Mallett, Jr.; parents, Louis Paul and Isabelle Mallett; sister, Barbara Mallett; and stepmother, Marida Mallett.

Those left to cherish his memory; his beloved children, Angela Dyer, Marlon (Sylvia) Mallett, and Anthony (Tressa) Mallett; ten grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren; two sisters, Brenda Augustine, Anna Marie (Cody) Barrett.

In keeping with Jimmie wishes, no services will be held.
