Karen Miller

September 21, 1959 — June 12, 2023

Karen Lynn Miller, 63, of Sulphur, passed away Monday June 12, 2023 at a local hospice with her family at her side.

Karen was a native of Kinder and a long-time resident of Sulphur. At a young age, Karen fostered a love for animals, which lasted a lifetime. She enjoyed fishing and riding horses, even barrel racing with her sister.

She was a graduate of Iowa High School, where she met her best friend and the man she would call her husband for the next 45 years, Michael Allen Miller. She and Mike raised their family in Sulphur, and enjoyed the sport of Softball. They each played in individual teams as well as co-ed, having won state championships and traveling to Marietta Georgia for regional games. Karen was a retired office administration professional, but her true love was being a wife, mother and grandmother to her family. She followed the children and grandchildren around to different sporting events, always being their number one supporter and cheerleader. Her feisty, but loving, spirit will be greatly missed by all.

Proceeding Karen in death is her father, Jules Riley Bellard. She leaves to cherish her memories, her loving husband, Michael Allen Miller, Sulphur; daughters, Dawn Henson and husband, Brandon, Ragley and Nikki Alexander, Texas; grandchildren, Byron Henson, and Rylee “Roo” Henson, both of Ragley; Kolby Miller and fiancée Skylinn Anderson, Texas; Skylar Alexander and Lakien Alexander, Lake Charles; great granddaughter, Keziah Miller, Texas; mother, Leverdie Marie Hoffpauir Bellard, Sulphur; sister, Julie Vincent, Sulphur; two brothers, Bubba Bellard and wife Jenni, Sulphur and Brandon Bellard and with Anjanette, Lake Charles as well as numerous nieces, nephews and family of the heart.

A celebration of Karen’s Life will be Sunday July 16, 2023 at White Oak Park 5584 River Road Lake Charles, LA 70615 from 11am until 3pm.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation for the professional, compassionate care shown not only to Karen, but to each of them during this difficult time.
