Luis Abel Rodriguez, Jr.

February 27, 1970 — April 18, 2023

Luis Abel Rodriguez, Jr., was born February 27, 1970 in Corpus Christi, TX. He was one of two children born to Luis Abel Rodriguez Sr., and Mary Lou Guerrero Rodriguez.

His work ethic was one like no other, in high school he spent his summer working on the farms or along side his father for his A/C business. His work ethic was inherited from his father, paying off when he purchased his first vehicle in the 9th grade. When he was not working, you would find him watching a documentary. His mother asking him “Did you learn something?” it was through her he found his love of knowledge.

He graduated from Bishop ISD, class of 1988. He began his career in law enforcement with the Kingsville Police Department, then the Corpus Christi Police Department until his retirement. Following his retirement, he began working as a Safety Manager in the oil & gas industry, bringing him to work at the Sasol expansion project and to meet Michelle. In 2021 they exchanged vows and made Westlake, LA their home. He enjoyed family time, watching his military documentaries, and spoiling his grandchildren.

He was welcomed into Heaven Tuesday, April 18, 2023 by his mother, Mary Lou Guerrero Rodriguez.

Those left to cherish his memory; his wife, Michelle Rodriguez; children, Brian Rodriguez, Raegan Jordan, Victoria Hebert, and Alex Jordan; father, Luis Abel Rodriguez Sr., step-mother Paula Rodriguez; sister Lorraine Rodriguez Venable and her husband Terry Venable; grandchildren, Timothy Hebert, Elijah Hebert, and Rodney Hoffpauir; and close friend and brother, Victor Valdez, III.

Visitation to be held Monday, April 24, 2023 at Bellview Baptist Church in Westlake, LA from 6pm to 8pm. A secondary visitation will be held Monday, May 1, 2023 at Guardian Funeral Home & Cremation in Corpus Christi, TX from 4pm to 7pm.
