Vickie Israel, 66, passed away on October 14, 2024 in her hometown of Sulphur. She was born June 16, 1958 in Lafayette, LA to Daniel and Una Israel.
She possessed a wealth of knowledge and talent, working in many fields, her most recent, as a in home caretaker. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who had a big personality and never met a stranger. Ever willing to lend a hand to those in need. She was proud to have raised "wonderful people". She loved to travel, making memories with family and friends, some of her most favorite being the beach.
She was a hard worker, exhibiting excellent work ethic and dedication not only her career, but her family. She could always be counted on to provide a strong support system to her family if needed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Dacia Koonce; siblings, Donald Singleton, Hallance Singleton, Michael Singleton, and Brenda Singleton.
She is survived by; a son, James Koonce; grandchildren, Britni Naquin, James M. Holbrook Jr. and wife Heather, Ashtin Koonce and wife Chastity; great grandchildren, Wyatt, Waylon, Dacey, and Zaedyn; three siblings, Daniel Singleton "Israel", Anita ISarel, and Caroline Dove.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to family to help offset funeral expenses.
Family led celebration of life will be held Saturday, October 26, 2024 at First Christian Church of Sulphur beginning at 10am to 2pm.
