Wallace Dempsey Young

Wallace “Dempsey” Young, 72, loving Husband, Father, and Friend, passed away on September 3, 2021. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, September 13^th at 11:00 AM at University Baptist Church in Lake Charles, LA. Visitation will be held from 9 AM- 11 AM. Burial will follow at Consolata Cemetery in Lake Charles, LA.

A Lake Charles native and known to many, Dempsey touched many lives wherever his career took him. Whether it was Firestone, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office, or Littleton Claims Services, he was always there to have a conversation and provide help to anyone who needed it.  Dempsey was a graduate of LaGrange Senior High and studied at McNeese State University. He loved his family and the outdoors. Whether it was hunting or fishing, Dempsey was always ready to take on an activity outdoors. Bass fishing tournaments and being on the water is where Dempsey would always find peace and happiness.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Connie; four children, Shane Young (Lani), Tammy Young, Craig Young (Tory), and Candice Boudreaux (Barry); seven grandchildren, Blaine, Chance, Brandi, Joshua, Jacob, Evan, and Emily; great-grandson, Kolten; and two sisters, Linda, and Mona. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace, and Bernice Young. He was an amazing man and will be truly missed by all who knew him.
